ITAR and Export Control Notice

Last Updated: August 27, 2026

UEP, Inc. (“UEP”) operates in the United States defense industrial base. Certain UEP activities, products, services, software, technology, technical data, communications, and business relationships may be subject to United States export-control, sanctions, and national-security laws.

This notice applies to UEP’s public-facing website and is intended to help visitors avoid sending, receiving, or using controlled information through inappropriate channels.

UEP, Inc. is located at:

2323 McDaniel Drive
Carrollton, Texas 75006
United States

1. Applicable Export-Control Laws

Depending on the item, information, transaction, destination, end user, and end use, UEP activities may be subject to laws and regulations including:

Other U.S. or foreign trade-control requirements may also apply.

2. Public Website Content

UEP’s public Site is intended to contain general corporate, recruiting, marketing, and business information suitable for public release.

Under the ITAR, certain information required for the design, development, production, manufacture, assembly, operation, repair, testing, maintenance, or modification of defense articles may constitute “technical data.” The ITAR separately provides that technical data does not include certain public information and does not include basic marketing information on the function or purpose of defense articles or general system descriptions.

Public availability of information on UEP’s Site should not be interpreted as:

Export-control classification depends on the specific facts and information involved.

3. ITAR Technical Data

For purposes of the ITAR, “technical data” can include certain non-public information required for the design, development, production, manufacture, assembly, operation, repair, testing, maintenance, or modification of defense articles, including information contained in drawings, photographs, plans, instructions, documentation, and certain software.

Technical data can be controlled regardless of whether it is transmitted electronically, visually, orally, or in physical form.

Do not assume that information is uncontrolled merely because it is technical, unclassified, commercially useful, or transmitted within the United States.

4. Exports and Releases to Foreign Persons

Under the ITAR, an “export” can include more than physically shipping an item outside the United States. Subject to the regulations and applicable exceptions, releasing or otherwise transferring ITAR-controlled technical data to a foreign person in the United States may constitute an export.

Access permissions, email transmissions, file sharing, cloud access, screen sharing, meetings, demonstrations, photographs, verbal disclosures, and other forms of release can create export-control issues depending on the information and recipient.

Do not disclose controlled UEP information to any person unless the disclosure has been reviewed and authorized as required by applicable law and UEP policy.

5. U.S. Persons and Foreign Persons

The ITAR defines “U.S. person” and “foreign person” as regulatory terms.

A U.S. person generally includes certain lawful permanent residents and protected individuals, U.S.-incorporated entities, and U.S. governmental entities, as defined in 22 C.F.R. § 120.62.

Whether a person may receive particular controlled information depends on more than physical location. Citizenship, permanent-residency status, nationality, destination, end use, licensing, exemptions, agreements, sanctions, and other factors may be relevant.

UEP does not make export-authorization determinations based solely on a visitor’s ability to access a public webpage.

6. Do Not Submit Controlled Information Through Public Website Channels

Do not send export-controlled technical data, classified information, CUI, or other restricted technical information through general website forms, public email addresses, recruiting forms, or other channels unless UEP has expressly designated the channel for that information and the transmission is authorized.

Examples of information that should not be submitted through an unapproved public channel include, where controlled or restricted:

If you believe information you need to send UEP may be export controlled or otherwise restricted, first obtain instructions from your authorized UEP point of contact for an approved transmission method.

7. No Authorization by Submission

Submitting information to UEP does not create an export license, exemption, authorization, technical-assistance agreement, manufacturing-license agreement, or other governmental approval.

You are responsible for ensuring that you have the legal authority to provide information to UEP.

UEP may decline to access, process, retain, or accept information when its export-control classification, authorization, ownership, or handling requirements are unclear.

8. Defense Services

Certain assistance, training, or technical support involving defense articles may constitute a “defense service” under the ITAR.

Nothing on the public Site constitutes an offer or authorization by UEP to furnish a regulated defense service to any person.

Any defense service provided by UEP is subject to separate review, authorization, agreements, and controls as applicable.

9. Restricted Parties, Destinations, and End Uses

UEP may screen persons, organizations, destinations, transactions, and end uses against applicable U.S. government restrictions.

UEP may refuse, suspend, or terminate communications or transactions when necessary to comply with:

No Site content should be understood as a commitment to transact with a particular person, organization, or jurisdiction.

10. Recruiting and Employment

Some UEP positions may involve access to export-controlled technical data, defense articles, controlled technology, classified information, or government facilities or systems.

As permitted by applicable law, eligibility for particular positions may depend on factors such as:

A role’s specific requirements will be described or evaluated during the recruiting process. Nothing in this notice should be interpreted as a general citizenship requirement for every role.

11. Visitors, Vendors, Partners, and Media

Visitors, suppliers, vendors, business partners, contractors, media representatives, and other third parties must comply with UEP access, photography, information-security, export-control, and visitor requirements while interacting with UEP facilities, systems, personnel, or non-public information.

Access to a facility, meeting, demonstration, system, or document does not authorize further disclosure or export.

12. Photographs, Videos, and Facility Information

Photography, videography, recording, scanning, mapping, or other collection of information at UEP facilities may be restricted.

Publicly released photographs or videos do not authorize visitors or third parties to photograph or record non-public areas, equipment, processes, screens, documentation, defense articles, or technical information.

Follow posted instructions and directions from UEP personnel.

13. No Export-Control Advice

This notice is provided for general informational purposes. It is not legal advice and does not provide an export classification, commodity-jurisdiction determination, license determination, sanctions determination, or authorization for any specific item, person, transaction, destination, or activity.

Export-control requirements are fact-specific and can change. Persons handling potentially controlled items or information should consult qualified export-compliance or legal personnel as appropriate.

14. Relationship to Other UEP Requirements

This notice supplements, and does not replace:

If a more restrictive requirement applies to particular information or activity, the more restrictive requirement controls.

15. Reporting Concerns

If you believe controlled technical data, classified information, CUI, or other restricted information has been inadvertently submitted through the public Site, do not further transmit or redistribute it.

Promptly notify your authorized UEP point of contact and follow any instructions provided for secure handling.
